Lightholm Demo
Lightholm Demo - the first five boards of a tower defence where every enemy has a weakness, every tower overheats, and you fight too.
Play it in the browser above, or download the Windows build below. The browser version is English only and runs lighter than the download; the Windows zip is the full demo in all ten languages.
Lightholm is a single-player tower defence about keeping one lantern lit. Enemies walk the road toward it; you build towers beside the road to stop them, and once the constellation gives them to you, you throw frost, fire and lightning of your own. Waves come at night. Between them the sun comes up, the board is quiet, and you spend what you earned.

What the demo has
- The first five of the twelve boards - The Straight, The Lagoon, The Knot, The Delta and The Archipelago - each with its own build challenge and its own time trial.
- All four towers: Arrow, Pulse, Fire and Lightning.
- The whole idea the game is built on: every enemy has a weakness - Runners take far more damage while slowed, Brutes while burning, Leapers while shocked - so the tower that applies a status and the tower that does the damage are different buildings.
- Heat. Towers jam if they fire too long, and repairs cost the coins you would have built with.
- Element pads: earth, fire, ice, wind and light, and what each one does to the tower standing on it.
- The Lantern Arts - all five player spells and their mastery ranks. Frost Bloom, Emberfall, Skybreak, Bramble Mist, Lantern Rally.
- The constellation is not cut down. All 121 stars are there and the five demo boards pay into the same sky; refunds are free and three builds save side by side.
- Endless on every board you beat, with a boss every fifth wave and no last one.
- All ten languages in the Windows download: English, Thai, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Korean, German, French, Russian, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese. The browser version is English only.

What it does not
- Boards six to twelve - the crossing, the coil, the moat, the hourglass, the estuary, the pinwheel, and the compass with four roads arriving at once.
- Half the bosses. The demo sends The Bulk and The Twins. The splitter that breaks into smaller pieces, which break again, and the worm of segments sharing one health pool, are in the full game.
- Prestige, which opens once the campaign is finished.
Saves do not carry over. The full game starts you at the first board under an unlit sky.
Two ways to play
- Browser - click Run game. English only, saves in this browser. Boards four and five with two waves overlapping will run slower than the download.
- Windows download -
lightholm-demo-windows.zip, unzip, runLightholm Demo.exe. All ten languages, saves on your machine. It is the same build the Steam demo carries.

Install instructions
Windows: unzip lightholm-demo-windows.zip anywhere and run "Lightholm Demo.exe" inside the "Lightholm Demo" folder. There is no installer and nothing else to install. Windows SmartScreen may say the app is unrecognised because the executable is not code-signed - click "More info", then "Run anyway".
Browser: the version on this page is English only and lighter than the download; the Windows zip has all ten languages. Neither save carries over to the other, or to the Steam version.
